Wholesale Savings On Drug Test Kits: Unit Price Comparison

Box or Bulk? What You Save Per Test Buying 1,000 Workplace Drug Tests from ADTUK

If your business tests staff regularly, you will know how quickly a box of 25 drug tests disappears. A few pre-employment checks, a round of random testing, one post-incident test, and suddenly you are reordering again.

ADTUK is the wholesale side of UK Drug Testing. The kits are the same, they leave the same warehouse in Aylsham, Norfolk, but we sell them by the full carton at trade prices. We wanted to put real numbers on what that means, so we took four of the best-selling workplace drug tests on UK Drug Testing and compared the cost per test when you buy one box there against buying 1,000 tests from ADTUK.

How we worked out the numbers

We kept it simple and used the prices listed on each website on 1 October 2026.

• UK Drug Testing: the price of a single box (25 tests, or 20 for the saliva kit) divided by the number of tests in the box.
• ADTUK: the carton price divided by the number of tests in the carton. ADTUK lists one trade price per carton, with a minimum order of 500 tests, so 1,000 tests is simply 40 cartons of 25, or 50 boxes of 20 for the saliva kit.
• 1,000 tests on UK Drug Testing: the same 40 boxes of 25 (or 50 boxes of 20) bought at the single box price, so we are comparing like with like.

The four tests side by side

Across the four tests, buying wholesale cuts the cost per test by between 31% and 50%. Here is how each one breaks down.

1. UKDrugTesting 13 Panel Ultra Sensitive Urine Cup

This is the top seller on UK Drug Testing and it is easy to see why. It is a screw-lid integrated cup that screens one sample for 13 drugs, including ketamine, benzodiazepines, buprenorphine and tricyclic antidepressants. The cannabis cut-off is a sensitive 20ng/mL, and there is a temperature strip on the side of the cup so you can check the sample is fresh.

• UK Drug Testing, box of 25: £159.00 (£6.36 per test)
• ADTUK, carton of 25: £80.00 (£3.20 per test)
• Saving: £3.16 per test, or £3,160 across 1,000 tests

Bought box by box, 1,000 cups would cost £6,360. From ADTUK the same 1,000 cups cost £3,200, which is very nearly half price. If you need wider coverage, the same listing also has a 23 panel cup with three specimen validity tests at £140.00 per carton of 25.

2. ALLTEST 13 Panel Urine Cup DOA-1137-A1

The ALLTEST cup screens for the same 13 drug groups, but it also has a three-pad adulteration strip that checks oxidants, specific gravity and pH, as well as a temperature strip. If diluted or tampered samples are a worry, particularly at pre-employment, it is a sensible choice.

• UK Drug Testing, box of 25: £192.99 (£7.72 per test)
• ADTUK, carton of 25: £120.00 (£4.80 per test)
• Saving: £2.92 per test, or £2,919.60 across 1,000 tests

3. UKDrugTesting 7 Panel Ultra Sensitive Workplace Urine Test

This one is a dip card rather than a cup, so the sample is collected in a separate pot and the card is dipped into it. It screens for cannabis, cocaine, opiates, amphetamine, ecstasy, methadone and benzodiazepines, with low cut-offs that include cannabis at 20ng/mL and cocaine at 150ng/mL. It is the cheapest of the four per test, which makes it a good fit for high-volume screening.

• UK Drug Testing, box of 25: £69.99 (£2.80 per test)
• ADTUK, carton of 25: £38.00 (£1.52 per test)
• Saving: £1.28 per test, or £1,279.60 across 1,000 tests

The saving per test looks smaller here because the test is cheaper to start with, but in percentage terms it is one of the biggest, at around 46%. You will find it alongside 4 and 10 panel versions in our wholesale urine drug test collection.

4. ALLTEST 11 Panel Saliva Drug and Alcohol Test DSD-8117

For on-site testing where supervising a urine sample is not practical, saliva is quicker and much harder to tamper with. The DSD-8117 screens for 10 drugs plus alcohol from a single mouth swab, including ketamine and tramadol, with results in around 10 minutes. UK Drug Testing recommends it for drivers, construction sites, railside contractors and other safety-critical roles.

• UK Drug Testing, box of 20: £210.00 (£10.50 per test)
• ADTUK, box of 20: £145.00 (£7.25 per test)
• Saving: £3.25 per test, or £3,250 across 1,000 tests

Saliva kits cost more per test than urine, so this is where the biggest saving per test sits. 1,000 kits would cost £10,500 bought box by box, against £7,250 from ADTUK. The rest of the DSD range, from 6 to 12 panels, is in our wholesale saliva drug test collection.

What about discounts on UK Drug Testing?

To be fair to our sister site, UK Drug Testing does reward regular customers. There is an automatic loyalty discount of up to 10% for returning customers and up to 15% off with subscribe and save, and some tests are sold in larger multi-packs too. None of these bring the price down to wholesale level, though. Take 15% off the box price of the 13 panel ultra cup and it still works out at around £5.41 a test, against £3.20 on ADTUK. Even UK Drug Testing's pack of 1,000 of the same cup comes to £4.50 a test.

What does 1,000 tests look like in practice?

It sounds like a lot, but if you test around 20 people a week, 1,000 tests will last you roughly a year. Occupational health providers and testing companies working across several sites will get through them much faster. A few things are worth thinking about before you order:

• Expiry dates: only buy what you will realistically use before the kits expire, and rotate older stock to the front.
• Storage: follow the storage instructions on the packaging, which usually means somewhere cool and dry, out of direct sunlight.
• Mixing tests: most workplaces use more than one type of test. Urine cups for pre-employment and saliva kits for post-incident testing is a common pairing, and both can go in the same order.
• Delivery: UK courier delivery is free on orders over £1,500 (excluding VAT), which a 1,000-test order of either 13 panel cup or the saliva kit will comfortably clear. Full details are on our delivery page.

A quick reminder: all four of these are screening tests. Any non-negative result should be confirmed by an accredited laboratory before you take disciplinary action, so it is worth budgeting for a few laboratory confirmations alongside your bulk order. Not ready for 1,000 tests?

You do not have to buy 1,000 at once. The minimum order on ADTUK is 500 tests, which is 20 cartons of 25 or 25 boxes of 20, and the price per test is exactly the same at 500 as it is at 1,000. A 500-test order of the 13 panel ultra cup, for example, costs £1,600 from ADTUK against £3,180 for 20 boxes on UK Drug Testing, a saving of £1,580.
